When I realize that it was just a dream.
I could feel your hands on the small of my back and your lips on mine.
Your warm sun kissed skin sweeping over my body. Who’s watching and the time are not relevant, it’s just us in a beautiful bed my mind has made especially for this occasion. The sheets are cool and white, they accept us without judgement. In my head I wonder how you got here, how did you find me? I see your car parked outside from an upstairs window in a location that only we know about. Magically we are back in bed, no talking. We feel perfect together - I hear the neighbors dog off in the distance, it starts to get louder and louder and I realize you are starting to fade away.
No! That stupid dog! I just want to stay here. With you. It’s just a dream. I have to wake up.
